Essie Mae was born July 4, 1941 in Azar, Arkansas to George and Eva Lee White Ross. She united with Rising Star Baptist Church. She was a member of Yerger High School Class of 1960. She was employed at Champion Auto Parts as an assembly worker until her health began to fail. She resigned in 1978. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, George Ross, Roland Ross and Marion C. Ross. She departed this life on December 15, 2011 at Christus St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Texas. She is survived by four daughters, Angelia George, Cassandra Wil¬liams (Darrell), Temika Dolberry (Kenneth), both of Texarkana, Texas, Lonti Johnson of Hope, Arkansas; three sons, Charles Shepard (Teresa) of Hope, Arkansas, Aaron Shepard (Vernita), Patricia Shepard (Brenda) of Hope; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; three aunts, Stella Stuart (Burnell) of Hope, Arkansas, Olivia Thomas of Texarkana, Texas, LaGussie Charles of Hope, Arkansas; three broth¬ers, Al Ross (Clara) of Hope, Arkansas, Herbert Ross (Ida) of Hope, Arkansas, Nolan Ross (Olivia) of St. Louis, Missouri; one sister, Wilma Roberts of St. Louis, Missouri; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; devoted friends, Gladys Phillips, Corrine Wesson, Nova Pearl Balance and Ethel Gee Curry.
