Ruth Suetah Perry, second daughter of Noz and Katie (Jones) Ivory, was born in Curtis, Arkansas, Clark County. She attended grade school in Curtis, Arkansas; high school at Arkadelphia Baptist Academy; college at AM&N in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Conway Teacher College at Conway, Arkansas, and Tech-Russellville, Arkansas. She was a licensed beautician (Velvetes Beauty College, Little Rock, Arkansas).
She was converted at an early age, became a member of Mt. Friendship Baptist Church, Curtis, Arkansas. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Buster Perry on September 12, 1935. This union last for 53 years, at which time Buster was called to rest. She worked for three years in Clark County, after which she worked for 17 years in Yell County Schools, plus seven years with day care children. She moved to Hope, Arkansas to be near her sisters. The three sisters lived together. After moving to Hope, she united with Lonoke Baptist Church and remained a faithful member.
She leaves to mourn a devoted sister, Martha Thompson of Hope, Arkansas. She leaves also first cousins; a stepdaughter and husband, Lorene and Howard Benton of Las Vegas; also a host of other cousins and friends.
